Superfood breakfast idea.........3

                     YOGHURT

According to Wikipedia, yoghurt is a fermented milk product made by bacterial fermentation of milk. Plant sourced milk can also be used.....e.g soy milk, coconut milk and almond milk.

Yoghurt is made using good bacteria that we need in a good quantity in our digestive system to keep it healthy and in top 'shape' to absorb nutrients from food and excrete waste.

It has also been credited with boosting the immune system..........All the benefits of yoghurt can only be got if you buy the ones that contains active live cultures.......so you need to read the label carefully..

The frozen yogurt is not in this category of superfoods only fresh yoghurt have been known to be this nutritious.

It is rich in calcium and because the lactose in it has changed to lactic acid by the action of these good bacteria ; it might be tolerated by some people who are lactose intolerant.

Researchers have also concluded that it may lower the risks of type 2 diabetes and can also help prevent vagina yeast infections by promoting a good ph balance down there.

For the purpose of weight loss, we need to always read the food labels on the pack. Most fat free yoghurt are laden with sugar so I personally buy plain ones.

You can take this for breakfast with any fruits of your choice......It can also be taken as a snack.....Just remember portion control #wink#

Sooooo.......fruits like seedless grapes, Apple's, banana, pawpaw, berries etc can make an excellent accompaniment with yoghurt for breakfast.

I personally buy plain FAT FREE GREEK YOGHURTS for the nutritional value ,texture and taste.

Over to you........blog visitors......which is your favourite kind of yoghurt?........and are you willing to try coconut, soy or almond yoghurt?
