Are you Dehydrated?

 There is a saying handed down to us by our Yoruba ancestors that......"No one makes water his enemy"........ And I imagine you say of course not.......

........But in this generation we can see that some people have chosen to make drinking water their enemy by making it unattractive and a sign poverty to even offer a guest water.......
                         

Instead we consume refined sugar and chemicals in containers ranging from bottles to packs .

        I have often wondered at what point in our history as a nation did we embrace fizzy drinks......It is plain disservice to our bodies. A bottle of the famous cola drinks has about 9 teaspoons of sugar.....IMAGINE THAT.......That is what you ingest when you drink these cola drinks.
                   

      THEN there's  the malt drinks......Sugar again...(just check the calorie content in a bottle written on the label........THEN the so called juices.....I mean the packaged one's........chemicals + sugar.....Whatever happened to good old drinking water?......No Sugar and so zero calories
                                             
      Drinking Water aids weightloss by helping flush out toxins from the body and freeing up the liver to metabolize fat. It also helps to control / suppress appetite.
     Researchers claim that the centre in the brain for registering hunger is the same place for registering thirst. So .......the  next time you feel hungry........slam down a glass of water first and if you still feel hungry after some time then eat. (Remember portion control).

      Drinking enough water makes your skin glow and look younger; as impurities keep getting flushed out of your system a glowing complexion will be revealed because water mosturizes and detoxifies the skin.

    It helps optimize your brain function---since our brain is mostly water....... It also aids digestion and help relieve constipation.

  Drinking enough water helps relieve headaches (which can be a dehydration induced). BOTTOM LINE IS WE NEED WATER TO FUNCTION.

  How much water should we drink....some sources say 6-8 glasses daily.......But me I do more than that ; I just satisfy my thirst .
 
      If you find it difficult / boring to drink ordinary water you can add in lemon, cucumber, orange etc.
   
       I drink until my pee is pale .....very close to colourless .....like water....

      Anyone ' game' to try it? Let us know your thoughts on it.....

  1. What I need to know is the best times to drink water as I drink so much water and really need to see the benefits therein. It would be interesting to know the most beneficial times that water does its thing in the body.

  2. A Glass first Thing in the morning with freshly squeezed lemon. A Glass 20 minutes before each meal and then spread the rest through out the day as needed. When you have a headache....try drinking water first....It could be dehydration induced.

  3. The first thing in the morning dose is to flush your system and gently detoxify. The dose before each meal is for appetite suppressing and also cleansing. I also drink water during the night.
