It is my cup of tea.........2

BLACK TEA-----Is the most oxidized leaves of the Camellia Sinensis and it has a strong flavour. It is called Red tea in China because the tea is red after it has been brewed. It is the processed leaves that are black.

This tea has antioxidants, which research suggests may prevent oral cancers and the polyphenols and tannin act as antibacteria to prevent tooth decay and inhibit bad breath.

It has the highest amount of caffeine of all the tea types BUT at significantly lower levels than coffee...... Let us note that the caffeine contents is determined by how long it is brewed.

This means that the longer you steep tea in hot water the more caffeine you will get in your cup of tea.

                                   HERBAL TEAS

Peppermint tea.....Is got from the leaves of the peppermint. It aids digestion and it relieves the symptoms of bloating and gas.
It has antiviral properties and so can be drunk to relieve symptoms of viral infections. I personally take it last thing at night.

Chamomile tea....... Relieves stress and aids you to sleep....so if you suffer from insomnia you need to get this tea and take it last thing at night.
It also has anti inflammatory properties so it can be used to relieve symptoms of haemorroid. You can sweeten this tea with natural wild honey because it has an earthy taste.

Rosehip tea.......Is good to drink when you have the cold or flu as it has very high vitamin C content.
It is deep pinkish red when brewed and is got from the pods of roses.

Can we all see that there is no need to keep drinking fizzy drinks and colas ( which laden with sugar ) when we can easily sweeten tea with natural wild honey and add ice to make it a cold drink.

IF  You are caffeine intolerant , just opt for the decaf versions of these teas.

Note however, that HERBAL teas are completely caffeine free.

So what are your thoughts on tea.....? You are welcome to drop a comment on it.

  2. Just develop a taste for it....all the tastes we have are acquired nau......And who says you have to take your tea hot?

Make it into iced tea. Add a dash of lemon or some slices cucumbers to the cool tea and put in the fridge ....or better still add ice; sweeten with natural wild honey....
    THEN enjoy the health benefits.....
