Fruit Knowledge 102........

We have very good fruit choices around us in Africa too.....

Cashew Apples.....

       
                                         

     The cashew fruit is low in calories and very high in vitamin C......It is said to contain about 5 times the level in an equivalent size of an orange.....= can help relieve the symptoms of cold, sore throat and the flu.

      It is also a natural diuretic......makes you pass out urine a lot thereby getting rid of excess fluid and salt from your system.  So when it is in season consume it well; you can juice it with other fruits and veggies or simply wash and eat.

     Pink Grapefruit......

                                       

The pink grapefruit is an excellent source of vitamin C , lycopene....which can help prevent tumor growth, beta carotene...a disease fighting antioxidant.
When eaten like a tangerines.... It has the potential of helping lower cholesterol levels because of pectin in the fiber
It is also a very good source of vitamin A.....which promotes good vision....

It is fantastic for weight loss because it is low in calories with plenty fiber..

We NEED to incorporate more fresh fruits and fresh  Vegetables into our diet...there is no short cuts....Shikena....
