Gluttony .....equally as bad as drunkenness

As I was discussing with a dear friend yesterday on weight loss and  healthier lifestyle , she mentioned how this vice has eaten deep into the fabric of our society. It really got me thinking......so ....let's 'xray' the word .....

According to the Cambridge online dictionary .........A glutton is a person who regularly eats and drinks more than is needed.........

                                             OMG......Does that describe you......?

The resultant evidence of gluttony is being obese, overweight or morbidly obese: so we 'orobos' need to evaluate our lives and rein in our excessive craving for food and drinks.
OUR BODIES IS NOT A DUSTBIN

Little wonder the general reaction of people to 'orobos' is DISGUST

How many of us will still drive to the filling station though our petrol tank is full?

The next time you reach for that bowl of food or crisps or anything that has become a weakness to you.........ask yourself the main reason why you are eating....

..........Is it because you are hungry? OR ARE YOU AN EMOTIONAL EATER.......a person who uses food for comfort.....who eats when she is bored, unhappy, angry  e.t.c

If you are an emotional EATER....please deal with the issues and stop punishing your body and slowly killing yourself by reaching for food and drinks to temporarily make you feel better.......

Stop feeling sorry for yourself.....I am in that boat too ....and since 6th of January, I have taken conscious steps and made painful adjustments.....But it has been worth it because as at today I am about 8 kg  lighter..

NO DRUGS.....NO 'MIRACLE' CONCOCTION..... Just an adjustment of my food choices, portions and exercises.

You are welcome to join us in this quest for a new and healthier US.......

PONDER ON THIS..........

You have power over your mind- not outside events. Realise this, and you will find strength.

  2. Lol.....You have just nailed it....The whole point is we still eat like our forefathers yet we are not remotely as active as they were...Our starch consumption is wayy higher than our modern day caloric needs.
If we say oyinbo food..like it's alien and we are not willing to try them out...THEN why did we avail ourselves of the opportunity of oyinbo education....why are we speaking oyinbo language?
'Swallow' is against everything we have been taught in digestion ...that it starts in the mouth with chewing and mixing with saliva......but we just swallow bolus of food whole....thereby tasking our system more and overeating since we don't get the feeling of satiety that comes with properly chewing.
Our food is not disgusting ...and I did not mean to imply that....they simply need to be finetuned and reduced in quantity..
Kindly read all the previous posts to glean out healthier food choices...Happy Sunday...
