Introducing Quinoa Seeds......

Lunch is a meal during which  you can comfortably eat carbohydrates though in the right portion. Let's start looking at our traditional lunch food choices and healthier alternatives.
   
         Today, let's talk about Quinoa ( pronounced KEENWA) .....seeds. This super food dates back 3 or 4 thousand years ago to the Andean region of Peru , Bolivia and Colombia.
     
           

     

                     Quinoa is rich in Lysine ( essential for tissue growth and repair) which is a rare amino acid that is not found in many other grains -- which makes the protein level in this grain comparable to those in milk.

                  It contains all nine amino acids.....

                      Quinoa is rich in dietary fibre so helps to regulate blood sugar and metabolism......It thus keeps us satisfied longer thereby reducing food craving.

            This seeds have a high Manganese content ( it's an antioxidant that protects red blood cells and other cells from injury by free radicals ).

            Quinoa is rich in magnesium ,riboflavin and is also gluten free which makes a good food choice for people suffering from Celiac disease and gluten intolerance.

                                       

            For the purpose of weight loss and healthy eating quinoa is an excellent replacement for white rice, pasta and white flour ( there is quinoa flour for gluten free baking )
